Host Warwick Fairfax and cohost Gary Schneeberger couldn’t be more different in their personalities — or more similar in their commitment. Together, they offer actionable hope and steps to discovering that your crucibles didn’t happen to you; they happened for you.

Warwick brings the curiosity and compassion of a certified executive coach to Beyond the Crucible, asking penetrating, empathetic questions of guests about their life-altering trials that get them to open up, as many have said, as they never have before. He also shares insights on turning those trials into triumphs from his own crucible journey – losing $2.25 billion in a failed takeover bid of his family’s 150-year-old Australian media company – and the stories of the more than 120 guests of diverse backgrounds and experience who have appeared on the show.

Gary describes his role as that of audience advocate, ensuring the heartfelt reflections of guests and Warwick are given the necessary perspective – and the occasional dash of humor — that allow listeners and viewers to see the hope behind the hurt and apply the wisdom being shared to their unique journeys. A former journalist, Gary relishes the opportunity to mix his interview style with Warwick’s to help draw revelatory responses from guests and from Warwick himself.
